From Annecy to Brussels, via Alsace.
A few weeks ago, Ozio introduced you to Camille and Quentin, a couple of passionate cyclists embarking on a great cycling adventure, heading for the Far North! They set themselves a challenge: to cross 9 countries for more than five months. In total, 10 kilometers to cover… As a bonus, they will be dressed in Ozio from head to toe. A great opportunity to test the performance of our technical cycling clothing.
The hour of the great departure finally rang on April 2. After more than two months of preparation, Camille and Quentin hit the road in the rain, since Annecy. The crossing of Jura begins and with it, a parade of villages and beautiful forest and lake landscapes. Even if these are well known to the two cyclists, they are still just as impressive...As are the elevations! They will also have to brave a wind of madness, which blows very hard, sometimes all day long.
Direction, theAlsace ! Our two friends cross the department of Doubs, from Morteau to Montécheroux, to come along the Rhine through the'EuroVelo6. As for the weather, the temperatures, which are around 10 degrees, and the headwind are not making their job any easier. Their jackets et tights Ozio ELEMENTS are valuable allies in dealing with the vagaries of the weather. However, the kilometers are linked on increasingly hilly roads. Camille and Quentin discover the picturesque Alsatian villages, their vineyards, and even see a few storks! crush for Kaysersberg, a magnificent, typically Alsatian flowered village. They then follow the Bruche canal, on a false flat descending to reach Strasbourg, where they can finally take a well-deserved break.
After some cycling around town in beautiful Strasbourg, the couple admires the cathedral one last time, then head for theGermany : a first border crossing which makes this trip to the Far North always a little more concrete! The start is still in the rain… EuroVelo 5 is running smoothly. This portion is done on an old railway line… original! A first mishap slows down the couple of cyclists: one of the spokes of Camille's rear wheel breaks. Fortunately, their evening host will be able to help them and they will be able to find a repairman very quickly the next day to unveil the wheel.
Along the way, the weather improves. The weather is rather mild, the sun is starting to warm your back on the climbs but the descent is always cool! On the road, they meet other cyclists from Belgium or Luxembourg... Including Pierre, 75, who rides his bike every day and will show them the surroundings of Namur. The circuit is beautiful, wild… but the road is a bit bumpy. The kilometers in Belgium follow one another while facing a sometimes rough wind. They pass by Louvain la Neuve and the beautiful forest of Soignes, before finally arriving in the capital, Brussels, for two nights.
