OZIO chooses to move the production of some of its clothing so as not to increase its prices

At OZIO, we have always made the commitment to the greatest transparency regarding the production conditions of our products. This is part of the contract of trust with our customers : everything is clear, they know the values ​​held by the brand and the efforts we make to respect them.

Price is an issue that leads us to constantly seek a happy medium : maintain accessible prices without compromising the quality of our products or undermining our commitments. It is with this in mind, and after a long reflection, that we made a major decision: to produce some of our shorts in Bosnia.

This approach aims to ensure that our products remain affordable while maintaining their level of excellence.

Our historic manufacturer is sharply increasing its prices

Faced with growing inflation and structural challenges in Italy, our historic manufacturer is forced to increase its prices. This significant increase, of more than 20%, would have a direct impact on our cycling shorts, increasing the price, for example, of our TITAN shorts from €145 to €175.

The sharp rise in prices in France for more than a year, we are aware, has put millions of people in difficulty. On our small scale, we seek not to penalize athletes and all cycling lovers by a surge in our prices. This is what pushed us to look for alternative solutions in order to maintain our quality and price standards.

OZIO's dilemma: how to offer our products at the same price and of the same quality?

Keep the same Italian manufacturer

For years, OZIO has been collaborating with a trusted Italian manufacturer to design its cycling products. But increasing costs led us to choose between:

• Increase the prices of our shorts,

• Continue to offer you our excellent products at the same price, by outsourcing their production.

Our goal remains to collaborate with this same manufacturer, simply transferring the manufacturing process.

Manufacturing in Bosnia, is it reasonable?

Bosnia, although still at the gates of the EU, represents in our opinion a viable option for the manufacture of our shorts. Certainly, the introduction of a new production location in Bosnia raises questions, particularly regarding working conditions and compliance with quality standards.

But we received tall the guarantees from our manufacturer. This Italian manufacturer has owned the Bosnian factory since the 1990s. It ensures responsible social management and production quality in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. In addition, rigorous quality control, which will continue to be carried out by the Italian management, guarantees that each clothing will meet the high expectations of our customers.
