The GRAN FONDO road cycling tights are the newest addition to our collection of cycling clothing for the rain and cold. With its specific chamois and its fleece interior, you will have no more excuses not to ride.
Who says winter says low temperatures, rain rain or hail, gusts of vent… The GRAN FONDO road cycling tights have been designed with Blizzard fabric, from SITIP . Made in Italy, this material is very comfortable to wear. The inside of the garment is fleece, and the outside has been covered by a water repellent treatment. The goal ? Ensure a little warmth while riding, while protecting against rain and possible mud projections.
You have to know how to equip yourself well to be able to leave in the cool on Sunday morning, but also to not be in pain. Cause there's nothing worse than catching cold, and to have crotch pain, the fault of poorly placed skin inserts. We use the skin of “Combi men” chamois for our road cycling tights. Made by Elastic Interface, an Italian specialist, this insert is ideal for long distances. The density is not the same depending on the pressure zones, and allows you to be comfortably installed in the saddle for hours.
The GRAN FONDO road cycling tights are available in black or navy blue. For safety reasons, reflective logos were added on the left thigh and buttock. Enough to remain visible to motorists, even in low light.
When you put on shoe covers, make sure to cover them with the ends of your tights road bike. In case of rain or splashes, this will prevent water from seeping in between the two. If you don't have one yet, a mudguard is a very useful accessory to place on the back of the bike to prevent water splashes from the wheels damaging the rain cycling tights.

These tights are water repellent, water coming from the sky will run off on the fabric during light rain. But remember to install a mudguard to keep the buttocks dry during heavy rains or on wet roads!

The tights are very comfortable. I was unsure about the size between L and XL, being a little between 2 sizes. Measuring 1,90 I opted for the XL in order to have a little leg length and it's perfect taking the time to adjust the tights properly. For shorts, I think the L is doable…
The “skin” is very comfortable and protects well in the groin area, where it is often problematic when wrinkles form in the shorts.

A quick round trip to the after-sales service to go from L to XL and off we go for a long, warm outing in these shorts perfectly designed for temperatures below 5°C. Indeed the shorts are very fitted and the legs seemed a little short to me without having applied your “fitting recommendations”!!!. Perhaps adding support to the sole of the foot would improve the overall look. However, with overshoes it works very well and the OZIO quality is of course there. Nice set with the Element jacket with very good value for money.

Thank you for your opinion. I don't know your height, but XL maybe for tall people. Personally, I'm 1,83m tall and I wear a size S. Maybe there's 1 or 2 cm missing at the bottom, but as you point out, we often wear shoe covers with tights, so it's not visible, and the air does not pass. And if I don't have a shoe cover, I put my socks over my tights 😉 Holding them under the foot would pull the tights down, and the skin would not be well positioned and the straps would not be comfortable on the feet. shoulders. After a few other purchases at OZIO (jackets, swimsuits, shorts and corsairs) which I had been completely satisfied with, I acquired these tights in blue (I don't like to wear black!) and in size M (for 1,71 ,65m and XNUMXKg).

Thank you Michael for your feedback. Weird for the length! I'm 1,83m and wear the S without length problem. The fabric is very stretchy. It is therefore necessary to mount the tights in stages in order to position the fabric correctly. Once the feet are on, the tights must be fitted to the calves, then to the knees, then to the thighs, then to the pelvis, “pulling” the fabric at each stage to position it correctly. You will thus improve what you consider to be a “small defect”. You will tell me…;)

When ordering, I hesitated about the size: at my age, I no longer have the skinny line of the perfect cyclist! I, who have always taken "M", I previously bought Ozio shorts in "S" on the advice of Mr. Dauvergne and despite my reluctance, in use they are comfortable and well adapted. Having become slightly overweight since then, I opted for the “M” for the Granfondo tights: at the first fitting, the tights seemed too tight, especially at the level of the crotch. I think this is due to the fact that the “skin” is placed less back than on shorts from other brands and that I hadn't “raised” the tights enough along the legs. After several outings (between 2 and 10°) and placing the shorts as close to the body as possible, I find them in the end very comfortable, warm and adapted to my morphology (1,73m for 72kg). As for the straps, thanks to their width, they are completely forgotten. Last not insignificant detail: the cut-out facilitates “pee breaks”!

By “unfolding” the fabric at each stage. By doing this, when you get to the crotch, the tights will be ideally positioned and snug against your body. But you're right, you have to take the time to put on the tights and position them well before you go riding. The output will only be better 😉

I was able to test the performance of the Aquazero in the Beauceron plain today in life size… ..3 - 4 ° C at the start; up to 20 km / h wind and drizzle over a good half of the 70 km outing. 1,87m, 78kg, as usual for my cycling outfits, I chose size L. The fit both on trial and on the bike suits me perfectly.
During my first outing with these tights, I had the bad luck to be able to test its hydrophobic power since a Breton drizzle accompanied me for more than 20 terminals over the 70km achieved. The test is conclusive.
The small detail that would have been at the top are zips at the bottom of the legs in order to easily put on hot or rain protection (Ozio or Velotoze for example) because the tights are mainly used during periods with the greatest risk of rain. .
The blue color follows perfectly with the Locman blue sailor jersey. The black tights are in adequacy with the gradation 2 yellow or orange (increased visibility in gloomy weather).
I still have to test these tights for 5-6h outings but since the skin is the same as other Ozio products, I have no doubts about its comfort for my seat.
I therefore recommend these tights which guarantee comfort and resistance to all winter weather.
