Well after validating his BRM400 (read the article BRM400 – validated), Annemiek validated her 600 km patent on June 12 in Longmeau. This enabled him to validate his pre-registration for "Paris-Brest-Paris de 2023" which will take place from Sunday 20 to Thursday 24 August 2023.
#BRM600: Dress well and eat well to face this last stage
Annemiek, for this last straight line, was equipped with the TITAN shorts and the EDY jersey. For the night, she had added the leggings, the AUTAN vest, the mid-season gloves, and the arm warmers from Ozio, of course.
In food, she had prepared small sandwiches, gingerbread, bananas, cereal bars and energy gels. Plus refreshments along the way (pizza, pastries).
“I loved the TITAN shorts, I had no pain in the buttocks and no warm-up. I appreciated the side pockets which allowed me to store all the food and thus avoided carrying another bag.”
But let Annemiek tell us about this last step
“Last weekend another qualifying race was carried out. This 600 km started in Longjumeau. Departure was at 5 a.m. on Saturday morning – lifted between 2 and 2:30 a.m. I traveled the first 200 kms solo (I thought I would be overtaken by groups quickly but that was not the case!). At one of my stops, I found a small group of 3 runners (men) who allowed me to finish the course with them, very happy to be able to share the road and the relays.
During the course, I suffered a slack around 400rd kilometers and we took the opportunity to stop to eat. The last 40 kilometers were very difficult, due to fatigue and bumps at the end of the course.
After all these efforts, BRM600 validated in 26 hours including 22 hours on the bike, 4 hours of break.
A big thank you to Christian and Ozio for the wonderful kit (yes even comfortable after 600kms and 22h of cycling). Thanks to Luc and Concap for the energy bars/gels/drinks. Thank you to all the Pacotora for always believing in me.”
